Qarchak Prison is a prison for keeping women with public crimes. The prison is located in a desert area in the east of Tehran, where more than 1200 women prisoners are held there.

This prison, or in other words, says that this exile has become an insecure place for women especially female political prisoners. Qarchak Prison in Varamin includes 7 niches with beds to several people. While there are more than 200 prisoners in each of these cells, no air conditioning, a harsh condition, a bad smell of sewage, is one of the things that made life hard for women in prison. In this prison, for more than 200 people and two bathrooms for the same number of prisoners are considered. The restrictions created for toilet have practically made many prisoners use the space between the niches and between the beds as a toilet

“I’m tired.” This sentence is well understood by prisoners. The prisoners in this prison believe that the jail is a little deaf, where our voice is not heard by anyone. Prison authorities, without regard to the wretched situation of prisoners, are just watching the prisoners’ problems. There are many problems facing the prisoners in this prison, which can sometimes endure some of them and commit suicide. Suicide by razor blade, head to wall, hanging with scarf and throwing themselves out of windows in the courtyard.

 The insecure environment inside prison cells is another problem for women and girls. A number of old and dangerous women in prisons use power and threats to imprisoned newcomers or weaker women, and in some cases it has been seen in front of the eyes of others and even female prison guards, some of these newcomers’ prisoners are sexually assaulted with hard things like glass of soda. Their voice and their beggars are strangled behind the walls of the prison, and they only past time without any help and goal

 Life in this prison is not going on at all, and it’s just a time-lapse of the way of the prisoners’ solution. In the anti-women society of Iran, where there are many legal and cultural inequalities, women do not have even the slightest human and civil rights, even in times of imprisonment or sentenced to incarceration, and women in this system suffer the most and most serious harm, the worst of which is the sexual violence and rape   Let’s be the voice of these women being imprisoned, who are faced by violence and oppression in prisons, and their voices are strangled behind the thick walls of prisons.
